FAQ’s - International Student Health Insurance for Students


1) Why do I need student health insurance?
It is extremely important you have insurance while you are studying in North America. At most Canadian and US colleges and universities, health insurance is mandatory. Hospital room charges have risen over $3,000 a day in some cases. One sickness or injury can cost as much as $25,000 and many hospitals request upfront payment for services.

4) Can I purchase this plan from my home country?

Yes. Both our long and short-term health insurance plans can be obtained prior to your arriving into North America. This can be done either online or you can send an email request to diabetes@inglememberbenefits.com.

5) Does this insurance plan cover me while I travel through out Canada or the US?
All three plans include travel insurance in and outside of Canada. Travel insurance to your home country will differ according to each plan.

6) What type of benefits is covered on the International Student Health Plan?

Ingle International offers three types of plans, benefits that include:

Platinum: hospitalization, physician charges, annual medical exam, diagnostic services, optometrist or ophthalmologist, maternity, paramedical practitioners, physiotherapist, repatriation, and emergency assistance 24 hours per day, 7 days a week.

Gold: Hospitalization, Medical, Surgical, Diagnostic Services, Eye Examination, Ambulance, Prescription Drugs, Maternity Benefits, Repatriation, Specialists: Chiropractor, Physiotherapist, Chiropodist, Osteopath and, Podiatrist, Psychiatric Expenses, Return Home, and 24 hour Common carrier accident insurance.

Silver: Hospitalization, Physician Charges, Medical Services, Prescription Drugs, Return Home, Family Transportation, Accidental Dental, Dental Emergencies, Repatriation, Air Ambulance, Psychiatric Care, and Emergency Assistance 24 hours per day, 7 days a week.

7) What do I do in event of a claim?
After the policy has been purchased, you will be provided with an Emergency Assistance Toll free number to call, plus a temporary wallet card with your policy number on it. Every insurance company has different procedures for claims and many require advance notification to ensure full coverage for medical conditions.
